The Hermit

19 02 2007

***Notes
Hermetic: sealed, enclosed, secured, safe
Hermit: any person living in solitude
Hermitage: monastery, solitary dwelling, hermit’s dwelling

Both the Hermit and the Introvert exist within me.
Although, both archetypes would seem the same I have treated
them unique and created a card for each. The Hermit appears
on a more personal level of existence. She lacks the zest for social
change. I do believe the Hermit would take up the torch if his/her
solitude was threatened. Once the problem was abated the hermit
would leave quietly (hands in pocket as the image of the woman
portrays within the card) hastily through the crowd and back to
her solitary dwelling. A celebration of social change won is not
an option for this archetype.

I am the one who …

I am the one who prefers a solitary dwelling.

I am the one who is lying at anchor.

I am the one who dwells inside you as a religious recluse.

I am the one who allows your skill to live alone.

I am the one who is satisfied with simple rooms and longs
for bicycle rides on wooded paths.

What do I have to give you?
What do you want from me?

I give you the dream and the desire for your own place of
dwelling.

I give you the tools to seek a spiritual side.

I am your anchor.

I give you solitary walks.

I want you to establish your own humble dwellings, if only
on paper for now.

The Dreamer

19 02 2007

I am the one who …

I am the one of impractical projects.

I am a visionary of your creations.

I am the purpose, strongly desired.

I am the one who guides your thoughts during restful sleep.

I am the one in daylight who has fancies and reveries for
you to indulge in.

What do you have to give me?
What do you want from me?

I have for you ideas and visions in the dark of night that
become colorful projects during the brightness of day.

I want you for a time, a short time to sit in complete quiet
and go to the country of dreams called your imagination and
dwell in the possibly.

Please conceive these dreams as possible. Know this time is
fitting, proper.

Think of me, the dreamer, when you walk – treat your walk as
a path of color and brightness.Look for me on the path. I am
here for you as your resource. You can suppose and guess with me.

The Great Mother

19 02 2007

*** Notes
I look to the Virgin Mary in terms of, The Great Mother.
Her story is remarkable. Faith, hope and forgiveness, her
shield. Her earthly filter contained illumnating life and
love. Unlike a martyr, she had no earthly desires.
I describe her as a latent priestess, enchanting.
I can have a relationship with her that is sacred and
tranformative. Her scars and triumphs are my comfort. With
her, I can shed tears for a world falling apart and she will
too.
Her arms are forever open. She needs no defense. A Hallelujah
posture calls forth my soul in liberation through a holy love.
Mary is a teacher – A role model in modern terms. Her inspiration
comes from talking to the angels. She teaches not to lean on her,
but to lean upon ourselves. Her inspiration comes from God, the creator.
I can relate to her birth of a Holy Child, with each of it’s many struggles.
To touch Mary is to touch the face of God.

I am the one who …

I am the one who gives life through the birth process.

I am the one who nutures your mind, body, and soul.

I am the one who loves you, has patience with you, and is
devoted to your growth process.

I am the one who keeps you close at my side and will protect
you with my own life if need be.

I am the one who gardens and praises the earth and all its beauty.

What do you have to give me?
What do want from me?

I give you wisdom through teaching you all the things I know.

I give you the earth and the animals. I show you how to take care
of these life sustaining elements.

The Advocate

19 02 2007

*** Give me your tired and your poor …

I am the one who …

I am the one who parades in the street the grievances of
others.

I am the one who will defend others before myself.

I am the one who hears the cruel words of the bias groups
and realizes the danger.

I am the one who is by your side defending you in all things.

I am the one who encourages you to write long letters
pleading your case.

I am the one who supports the writing and art into the
public view.

What do you have to give me?
What do you want from me?

I will give and continue to be your support, your champion,
and backer of your writing and artwork.

I am your personal endorsement – the voice inside that urges
you to continue your creative endeavors.

I uphold your talents.

Puer/Puella Eternis Child

19 02 2007

*** Notes
The Orphan Child (two) overlaps with the Puer/Puella Eternis
Child (Eternal Boy/Girl) - she is also an aspect of ~Alice In Wonderland~ to remain
forever young with an enjoyment of life. She flounders without the family foundation of the Orphan Child.

I am the one who …

I am the one who searches the boxes in basements of deserted
churches and a deserted God for a family of worn out photos.

I am the one who lays the cardboard families down, forever mixing
and matching.

I am the one who seeks a family to belong, to fit in, and to
be loved.

I am the the one who stands in the doorway with the mother.
A warm fire greets our loved ones.
The house in french vanilla color is trimmed with birds.
The frequency of flowers and wet earth wait at the open door.
Raspberry hot tea and pound cake are ready.
Napkins are folded with crocheted edges upon the gathering
table, shining from bees wax and lemon.
Here we talk of shared days – laughter and tears our potpourri.
Books and poetry are read out loud.
We are one and yet we aren’t with choice.

I am the one who searches the boxes in the basement …

What do you have to give me?
What do you want from me?

The ability to embrace responsibility.
The ability to face the aging process.

You have realized by study, writing, and through the use of
artwork how the child archetypes can meld together and cause
a draining of energy in the four types of the inner child.

The Orphan Child

19 02 2007

I am the one …

I am the one who examines and hold the missing places outside
of your world.

I am the one who climbed out the window and ran down the street
to find a place of belonging. I was so little. I was in such
danger and too young to know. I only knew I wanted to leave.

I am the one as a teenager who left home. I was sixteen. I am the
one who was not allowed changes and above all feelings. I am
the one who grew up and was so disliked.

I am the one who had good ideas, dreams and hopes. I am the one
who kept quiet and held on to these things for you.

I am the one who took you away for many years. I am the sick
feeling you had when you returned.

I am the one who is the outsider. I am the one who searched for
a place in other families. Now I am the one who knows it cannot
be found.

I am the one who never belonged.

I am the introvert of your external world.

What do you have to give me?
What do you want from me?

I give you a sense of accomplishments – all you know, understand
and have learned you taught yourself.

I want you to give up the angry feelings because you had to be
you own teacher.

I want you to no longer search for the perfect family as it does
not exist.

The Addict

18 02 2007

*** Notes
The process of creating these cards often varies. Often
the art come first. The piece of work then inspires
writing and perhaps a poem. For this particular archetype
the finished image brought about a kind of poem and are not
necessily my addictions.

I am the one who …

I am the one who has opium dreams while the moon sips a
Manhattan through clouded dark skies.

I am the one who plays cards drinking Bay Rum through a
straw.

I am the one who seeks love with the heart, forgetting my
head.

I am the one who believes the noisy slot machines and
lottery cards saying, ~I love New York~. bring love, luck
and money.

I am the one who rings the physic hot-line at 3am, after
eating Hersey Candy Bars, dipping them in a glass of iced
coke.

I am the one who thinks AA Meetings are for someone else as
I sit in a jail cell – playing checkers and smoking a
~Kool~.

I am the one who walks the malls, shops exclusively from
the Bon Ton, Victoria Secrets, and Hall’s Jeweler weighted
down with bags and leaving the double doors – exit, west
wing, feeling empty.

I am the one who fills the garage, the hundred dollar a month
storage unit, lines the walls of the basement and each corner
of the house with stuff.

What do I have to give you?
What do you want from me?

A balance of powers
Order to life and each day lived
An introduction to the inner spirit, gaining inner strength
A positive attitude, through process

An unveiling of the mask
An expression of life, lived fully
Positive thoughts, positive thinking

The Gardner

~Committee Card~

I am the one who …

I am the one who brings order to the long nesting of winter.
I am the one who desires the warmth of sun light on your
pale skin and body.
I am the one who rakes the gray and brown dried leaves of
last years autumn off the cold wet earth.
I am the one with hoe in hand, who turns the earth to
prepare for planting.
I am the one who smells the wet earth as I gently place the
tiny seedlings into the garden.
I am the one who watches the ladybugs flutter along side
the butterfly. I sit with the frogs and toads late into the
long summer evenings.
I am the one who longs for order in all things.

What do you have to give me?
What do you want from me?

I am the one who plants the seeds and waters the mind, but
you are the one who must keep up with the growth and pull
the weeds.

Is there anything else you want to tell me?

I want you to go for long walks, alone. Breathe the air of
all the seasons. Plant seeds of thought and ask the
questions – be patient as you listen for the answers.
