An Altered Book Project – The Secret Selves
If I had one wish, it would be to live as a gypsy. I find myself constantly on a path searching for enlightment where ever that may be.
As I continue with Soul Collage Cards, and working with archetypes I notice contant images keep cropping up. Even a ‘time’ frame from the past exists. What the sign or indication might be is yet not understood.~The Persona~
The Persona being, JaneGirl, represents the image I display for the world. It is the mask I place upon my face before entering the public arena. The origin of the word is Latin and is the word for mask. It is also associated with my desire of giving a good impression in society. A society that requires such status. It is in reality a false impresssion.
The Edwardian Era figure/woman has become a constant theme and symbol throughout my art work.
This is an altered book, round robin, I just completed. The first scan is the cover of the book, with a drawing I did. The most prominent archetype I feel, I have, is the clown. This archetype differs from my persona being. I am allowed through humor to express any variety of emotions without being taken seriously, although I am a very serious person.
