My name is Patricia and I would consider myself a mixed media artist and writer of stories, and poetry. I enjoy altered books, artist trading cards, collage on canvas. making dolls, sketching and reading.
Since I can remember I have always enjoyed opening a new box
of crayons, the smell and creamy consistency of white glue,
and collecting paper items along with books. As I grew older,
paint in tubes intrigued me along with the sound of stiff bristle
brushes applying color to the white canvas. Art frees open my
soul, the light and dark sides of my personality coincide in the
same space for the moment in complete harmony, I am only truly
alive as I create. Through my art work I can only hope I inspire
others to reach these places of contentment.
I live in Upstate, New York in a lovely village called Avon. My day job is an apartment manager for two small complexes. I am the proud mother to six lovely children.

~Song of Power~
( for the dream artist )
I am the smell of gardenia on an African dawn.
I am the sad strings of the violin.
I am the color of Amherst, all purple and violet, as the river after a cool rain.
I am the trundle bed with hidden places.
I am the clay eyes of gargoyles upon tall buildings.
I am the deer who nibbles the delicate mint leaves hiding in the wood.
I am the reaching oak in the middle of time.
I am the green stripped croquet mallet that drives the ball through the hidden small wire fences.
And, I am the skipping sound of the children who live with the old woman in the shoe.
*** This is my song of power and why I create.

Patricia, this is a fascinating project. Both Soul Sister and I have the Soul Collage book but she has done more work on it than I have. I will return regularly to this site and will eagerly explore your others.
These are exquisite! thank you for sharing them. I look forward to seeing more and thinking the thoughts they inspire.
